Columbia City Connect is excited to announce the launch of its new Volunteer Portal, a centralized online resource designed to make it easier than ever for residents to find volunteer opportunities, track service hours, and connect with organizations making a difference throughout Columbia City.

The new portal serves as a one-stop destination for both volunteers and organizations. Residents can browse current volunteer opportunities, sign up for community projects and events, and log their volunteer hours all in one convenient location. The platform was created to strengthen local volunteerism by helping connect people who want to serve with organizations that need support.

“Volunteers are at the heart of strong communities,” said Niki Keister, Executive Director of Columbia City Connect. “Our new Volunteer Portal makes it easier for residents to find meaningful ways to get involved while helping local organizations connect with individuals who are ready to give back.”

In addition to serving volunteers, Columbia City Connect is inviting nonprofit organizations, community groups, churches, schools, and other service-focused organizations throughout the Columbia City area to submit their volunteer opportunities to the portal. By participating, organizations can reach a broader audience of potential volunteers and promote opportunities that support their missions.

“We know many organizations rely on volunteers to carry out important work,” said Keister. “By creating a central hub for volunteer opportunities, we’re helping bridge the gap between community needs and community members who want to make a difference.”

The Volunteer Portal was developed as part of Columbia City Connect’s ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement and strengthening connections in our community. The platform not only helps residents discover volunteer opportunities but also allows volunteers to track their impact over time through an easy-to-use hour reporting system.

Since its inception, volunteerism has played an important role in supporting Columbia City Connect’s efforts to revitalize and energize downtown Columbia City. In 2025 alone, volunteers contributed 1,184 hours of service, representing an estimated value of more than $41,000 to the community.

Whether you’re looking for a one-time service project, an ongoing volunteer commitment, or a way to support a cause you care about, the Volunteer Portal offers opportunities for individuals of all ages, interests, and skill levels.
