On Saturday, April 26th, downtown Columbia City was buzzing with energy, smiles, and a shared mission: Downtown Clean Up Day! Despite the chilly weather, over 30 amazing volunteers showed up, ready to roll up their sleeves and give our downtown the freshening up it deserved. And wow, did they deliver!
From cleaning out tree grates and sweeping alleys, to weeding, planting beautiful flowers, and refreshing landscaping, our community showed what can happen when we come together with a common goal. It wasn’t just a day of cleaning—it was a day full of teamwork, laughter, and pride in the place we all call home.
A special shoutout goes to Casa Balbina, who saw the action and immediately stepped in with a generous (and delicious!) offer, free tacos for all volunteers! It was such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture that warmed everyone up and fueled us for the work ahead.
We’re also incredibly grateful to Columbia City Nutrition, who provided complimentary tea bombs to volunteers. They were a refreshing boost of energy and the perfect treat to keep the momentum going.
A huge thank you to LandMaster for donating one of their AMP HD – Land Edition utility vehicles. It was an essential part of the day, helping us haul supplies and collect trash efficiently.
And of course, we can’t forget to thank 46 Graphics for designing and donating our awesome event t-shirts! Their support helped give the day an extra sense of pride and unity, and volunteers loved having something to commemorate the event.
Clean Up Day was about more than just tidying up, it was about investing in our community and showing pride in our shared spaces. We are so thankful for every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart to the event. Your efforts truly made a difference!
Together, we proved once again that Columbia City is a place where community thrives. Let’s keep that momentum going and continue to take pride in our beautiful downtown.
