Join the City of Columbia City, Indiana, as we celebrate history in the making! On July 4, 2026, at Noon, the City will open a special time capsule in front of City Hall.

This capsule was originally buried in 1976 during the nation’s Bicentennial celebrations, marking 200 years of American independence. Now, 50 years later, it will be opened on America’s 250th birthday, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past and the community of Columbia City as it was in 1976.
