
Columbia City, IN – 05/15/25 – The Peabody Public Library invites the entire community to dive into a season of imagination, discovery, and family fun with its 2025 Summer Reading Program! This year’s events promise something for everyone—from children and teens to adults and families.
The festivities kick off Saturday, May 31st with a Summer Kick-Off Party, featuring a special story time, a petting farm, and a high-energy bubble dance party to start the season with a splash!
Throughout June, adults can explore their creative side with the Art Unraveled series, showcasing local talent from artists including Rainbow Alchemy, Shanna Fleetwood, Jasmine Lacey, Inman Wood artists, and Bastian Metal Creations.
For young explorers, the library is thrilled to present engaging and educational children’s programs featuring partnerships with Little River Wetlands Project, The BenAnna Band, Science Central, and a thrilling Dinosaur Encounter courtesy of the TAG Art Company.
Families can enjoy a wide array of entertainment all month long with appearances by Roz Puppets with their original story about a young cow trying to find her way in the world, Mark’s Ark who brings some amazing animals to meet, and the magical Story Circus performed by Yasu Ishida.
July continues the excitement with interactive events including a Read-a-thon, Messy Art on the Wetlands, a glowing Firefly Storytime, a cozy beat the heat Movie Marathon, and the grand Summer Reading Finale—a foamy celebration starring the Bubble Buddies and mountains of bubbles!
“The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program is “Color Our World” and invites patrons young and old on a journey of art and creativity.” said Mike Ashby, the Director of the Peabody Public Library. “We are excited to welcome everyone into the library to enjoy a summer of learning, laughter, and exploration of the world around us.”
